With body shapes, necks, hardware configurations, premium finishes, and pickups that are voiced by era and carefully crafted down to the last detail, this guitar encapsulates the essence of genuine Fender craftsmanship and tone. When the Jazzmaster was released, it was advertised as “a guitar that brings together the technology that Fender has cultivated and has all the conveniences.” Developed to provide a luxurious playing experience and to turn jazz guitarists to solid-body electric guitars, this futuristic and comfortable offset model was seen by the public as something completely different and out of the ordinary from the boxy archtops that were mainstream among jazz guitarists at the time.
