Hello and welcome to my world! I have always enjoyed having globes and various maps. I don’t know why. Never really traveled that much. You hear about different countries all of the time but it isn’t until you place that country onto a globe that you get any inkling of where it is at. And when you try to date a globe using the variety of cheat sheets you can find on a internet search that you realize how much wars, economy and weather could change the look of the globe. I find that fascinating. Anyway, I figure that this globe is from about the end of the 20th century. It shows Russia as one big country so it’s after 1991. It shows Viet Nam as one country so it’s after 1976. And it shows Germany as one country so it’s after 1990. I figure it’s sometime between 1990 and 1991. This piece was presented as a 15 years of service award! Condition: The globe looks pretty nice except:The colors are perfect and bright. There are scratches but they aren’t as bad as the pictures look. I don’t know why it looked like lots of scratches. The clock needs a new battery. The globe shows it made in USA and the clock shows Japan. A beautiful piece to display anywhere.It has a metal sign under the clock that says a person’s name, 15 years of service, General Electric Company.
