This is a fully polished piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber that contains a super rare, partial true scorpion from the Cretaceous Period. Please note that the scorpion is partial and missing most of its claws, head and stinger. It is still very rare to find even a partial true scorpion in amber. This scorpion was on the Earth when dinosaurs including T-Rex and Triceratops were. The piece itself weighs 2.4 grams with approximate dimensions of 2.6 cm length by 2.4 cm width and 0.4 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch.Please see my feedback. I have been selling amber fossils for over 15 years on eBay and do not sell fake amber only genuine material from now extinct plant sources not glass or plastic embedded with present day inclusions.Burmese (Burmite) amber is difficult to acquire and has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaurs and is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar (Burma).Please click on or mouse over images to see a larger view.
