IMPORTANT NOTE: The August Smart Lock shown in the pictures and in the video is NOT included with this item. This keyless Jimmy-Proof Deadbolt Lock and Adapter enables your August Wi-Fi Smart Lock (4th Gen) to lock and unlock the all-metal (brass & stainless steel) deadbolt rim lock for surface mounting on front doors, patio doors and other types of doors (see list). The entire setup is installed in a few minutes with as little as a Phillips screwdriver to drive (4) 2” screws into your door and (2) 2-1/2” screws into your doorjamb (and optionally another (2) 1” screws, into the side of the doorjamb). Unlike standard deadbolt locks it does not require sawing a hole through the door so it is also ideal for rented homes. The jimmy-resistant, cross-bolt locking design prevents prying the door away from the frame. The absence of a key cylinder makes this lock physically completely inaccessible from the outside for the highest level of security as it is, obviously, impossible to drill or pick this lock while there are no physical keys that can be lost, stolen or duplicated. (Always make sure to replace the batteries on time to prevent locking yourself out.) The August App can be set to automatically lock to always have total peace of mind. Comes with steel angled strike and all necessary mounting hardware including extra long, heavy duty screws for the strike. An August Smart Keypad installed outside your door will give keyless access whenever you do not have your smartphone or smartwatch on you. Moreover, with personal, temporary codes you can give one-time access to guests and keep track of who entered and when. Included in the Deadbolt Lock and Adapter Kit:1.
