Please read the entire ad for ALL the details to include the shipping info. It’s lengthy, but detailed. Item: Shimano XTR M900 wheels with Mavic 231CD hard anodized rims. 32 hole. Condition & History: Used, but it’s good condition. An 6/7 out of 10 appearance rating. Performance rating is 10 out of 10, if you have the fitness. I bought this wheel set years ago on eBay for a project bike. Now it’s time to move on and the project bike is dismantled and I’m selling the parts. I took as many close up pictures to show the condition. Issues are:- The normal paint chips & scratches from trail use over the years. – The normal sticker/decal wear on the rims. But for 20yr old + wheels, the decals in in good shape. If you were to want pristine decals, I know that Gil at Retrodecals can make you custom decals for the rims. He did so for me for a set of Mavic 117s.- Obviously the brake wear on the rim sidewalls since it’s for cantilever/v-brakes and the rims are anodized. The front wheel has plenty of life left and ‘feels’ very minimal wear. The rear wheel ‘feels’ definate wear (but of course because it’s a rear wheel) but still has many miles left on it. – Front wheel has a small ding in the rim. See video.- Front hub is smooth.- Rear hub is smooth. The freehub does not make a ratcheting sound because it is packed with heavy red tacky grease instead of light free hub grease. I don’t know if that’s what makes the sound. I just know I used red grease when I cleaned and mounted the free hub years ago. ***Please look at the pictures closely for condition. What & Why. What?An old school wheelset made back in the day that wanted a good high stuff. Why am I selling it? I bought this years ago for a display bike build, hence the great condition. I’m selling it now because it’s just time to move on and let this get ridden. Description & Specs. Wheel size: 26″Brake type: Non disc.
