The observation that a given tape played fine on my Realistic TR-169 is not a guarantee that it will perform similarly on your machine. Generally, they are not splice-tested, and occasionally one might separate at the sensing foil. An easy fix with some scissors and Scotch Tape—just like it was 1974 all over again… For these reasons, 8-track tapes are sold “As-Is” and returns are not accepted.
