New Iron Machine & Design LLC is proud to offer our latest product, a hand driver for Morse Taper Tooling. We developed this product as a lightweight and easy solution to manually turn the reamers we use in the manufacture of our products. Using this driver, we can quickly and easily utilize our on hand stock of chucking reamers for the task rather than purchase additional expensive, uncommon, and awkward to use hand reamers that require tap handles . While the tool was initially developed specifically to drive Morse Taper reamers, it is highly versatile and can be used to drive any Morse Taper tooling with a tang end. For example, a drill chuck on a Morse Taper arbor inserted into the driver turns the tool into an oversize “pin vise” that is great for driving small, straight shank reamers, drill bits, chamfer tools, countersinks, or anything else that fits in the chuck jaws. Some final notes on the driver: 1) The driver is designed for tanged Morse Taper tooling only and will not work with threaded MT tools that require a drawbar.2) Tooling is removed from the driver by use of a drift, punch, or rod (not included) through the hole in the bottom.3) The listing is only for the driver. It does not include any other tooling shown in the photos such as reamers, bits, cutters, or chucks.
