The box stays closed. The magician borrows a spectator’s finger ring and vanish it. Then, the magician opens the box, revealing an automaton small golden bird inside a glass dome. The magician explains that this is an automaton from the 1930s. You will see the brass clockworks mounted underneath its glass dome platform and the bird is perched on a branch next to an empty nest. The magician turns the key, then the clockworks move, and the bird starts singing and flapping his wings, and tail, tilting body motions with his head moving side to side and his beak chirps. After a moment, he lays a golden egg in the nest. The nest mechanically drops the egg into a clear tubing channel built into the box and comes out the front of the box landing in a brass seashell tray. The audience member is invited to open the golden egg and inside the egg is the ring.
