Some wear to the top edge of the dust jacket and discolouration of the page edges, otherwise excellent. Inside very clean and bright and without inscriptions. The definitive reference on one of the most renowned French designers of the mid-century modern era. Born in Hungary in 1910, Matégot studied at the School of Fine Arts and Architecture in Budapest before settling in Paris in 1931. Although perhaps better known for his handcrafted furniture, lighting and other applied art items – typically using steel rod and perforated metal – he was also one of the most important figures in the modern movement in twentieth-century tapestry design.
