One customer bought 20 coins with the intent to resell them on Shakedown Street in Las Vegas. The shipment was lost in transit, and replacements were reshipped. This caused a bit of an inventory issue, and we sold out faster than we had hoped. So fast, that we released a second edition of a different design. At first, USPS was of very little help. They have 90 days to cover insurance, and they said they’d be in touch. When we heard nothing back, we decided to buckle down and call it a loss. Today, the package was returned to me and the outside box was in very bad condition. We were relieved that the coins were still pristine in their original bubble wrap pouches. To be fair to everyone, we’ve decided to combine some more of those remaining First Edition 2024 coins with Second Edition 2024 coins as a two coin set at $45.00. Shipping is free, and you’ll be contributing to the REX Foundation, just the same as all of our listings. Please contact us for multiple set orders. These limited edition collector coins were the fourth and fifth in a series. Only 100 coins were ever available in either of these designs!This Limited Time Offer includes the final First Edition coins! Finished in antique gold, each 40mm coin is emblazoned with two unique high quality, finely detailed Phoenix rising from the Roses. The detail is in the feathers and if you look carefully, you will find timeless icons embedded in the images. The flip side of the coin has a high relief embossed finish with a familiar dancing friend singing his favorite tune, all safely protected in poly-carbonate protective casings. Previous buyers of the earlier editions will know this coin’s value, as they have collected them and even traded a few for various wares, goods, jewelry and even “miracles”! Each purchase includes a 20% donation to The REX Foundation , a non-profit charitable organiation founded by Jerry Garcia, The Grateful Dead and friends and family of the band in 1983.
