This new generation of the K2 Power Evo line is a reference for the most demanding sound lovers Developed to allow you to reach the very top levels of acoustic reproduction and bass, the K2 Power range symbolizes Focal’s expertise. Combining an evocative mix of pure sound control with detailed dynamics, speed and sophistication, the “Power Hi-Fi” concept, originally developed by Focal, has all the hallmarks of a reference line. Our signature yellow Aramid fiber inverted dome tweeter combines smoothness, precision, and clarity, optimizing imaging and producing an astonishingly loud, clear, and realistic soundstage. They combine very high power handling and extremely detailed sound thanks to the exceptional rigidity of the K2’s composite sandwich cone technology. SPEAKER DRIVERS CAPABLE OF EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE All the select components and production processes are the result of extensive acoustic research to achieve the high standard of sound which is so characteristic of the K2 Power Evo line. Focal’s engineers have once again pushed back the limits of performance to maintain the reputation of this extraordinary line which rhymes with power and precision! The ES 165KE is composed of two 165 mm (6½”) woofers and two 20 mm TKME tweeters. This is a compact solution that’s easy to install. The K2 Power Kevlar® cones used for the speaker drivers of the ES 165 KE component kit deliver extremely dynamic sound and perfect definition. These cones endowed with all the ideal qualities, lightness, rigidity and excellent damping, have also been given the new TMD suspension. Initially developed for Sopra high-fidelity loudspeakers, the exclusive design of the suspension removes unwanted resonances and reduces the effects of distortion. The two TKME inverted dome tweeters are composed of aramid fibres. Their exclusive “M”-shaped profile is designed to control deformation of the dome, and to perfectly reproduce high frequencies up to 22 kHz smoothly and with precision. Their compact crossovers are quick to install and easy to set up. Various accessories are supplied for assembling the tweeters, which can be installed in the factory locations, on tilting frames or flush-mounted.
