We are pleased to offer for sale another extremely rare, vintage, piano catalog in excellent condition! This circa 1902 George P. Bent Crown Piano catalog was intended for distribution to Crown dealers for their store’s customers. This historical piano catalog is approximately 122-years old and would make a fantastic gift for any piano store, any piano collector or pianist. Please, take a moment to read the partial listing of what’s inside the catalog. This is an original Crown catalog – NOT A REPRINT. This particular catalog is difficult to locate due to it’s age, specialized topic and quality. ABOUT GEORGE P. BENT AND HIS CROWN PIANO: George P. Bent was one of the most well known American piano and organ makers of the late 19th Century. Established in 1870, George P. Bent built pianos and organs under both his own name and the Crown and Concord brand names which were originally sold and distributed by Sears, Roebuck & Company (through their mail order catalogs). Crown also built a successful line of player pianos under the “Combinola” brand name. The company’s manufacturing facility and warehouse took up so much real estate, where their facility stood was actually called “The Bent Block” in Chicago. Two of George P. Bent’s most famous innovations were his “Orchestral Attachment” and “Practice Clavier”, which were special features operated by extra foot pedals. George P. Bent stopped building pianos around 1929 when the Great Depression strangled the American economy; however, the Crown brand name was produced up until the late 1940s. Also included is information on and illustrations of their Crown Style “E,” the Crown Style SS,” the Crown Style “CC,” the Crown Style “KK,” the Crown Style “GG” and the Crown Style “X.” ADVERTISEMENTS INCLUDE: This publication is a manufacturer’s catalog, thus the entire publication would be considered “an advertisement.” DIMENSIONS: This catalog has a multi-color embossed cover, measures 7¾” x 9¼”, contains approximately 55-pages, weighs 5.9 ounces and is in extremely good condition – especially given its considerable age.
