c1950’s STRIKING VINTAGE WITTNAUER RARE “BOWTIE” LUG AUTOMATIC WATCH~KEEPS TIME. Item Is Pre-Owned; Item Is Sold “AS IS”; Shipped USPS Ground Advantage. Offered for your visual as well as bidding approval is this striking vintage 17 jewel Wittnauer Geneve wristwatch manufactured in approximately 1943. Measuring 33mm wide and 36mm long, the stainless steel case has minor scratches and nicks consistent with use, but not abuse. At either end of the unique stylish angular case are eye catching bow tie lugs further adding to the timepiece’s flair and elegance. The few surface marks that are present on the thick crystal does not distract from viewing the soft gray dial featuring stainless hash hour markers and stainless steel hands with a central second. Automatic wound, the signed Wittnauer, 17 jewel, movement winds, sets and runs, keeping good time over an eight hour period. However, unerring accuracy should not be expected, nor is it guaranteed. Due to the fact that this watch has been recently acquired from a closed watchmaker’s estate, I cannot guarantee its future performance. If one hundred accuracy is required, a cleaning and adjustment would be recommended. This timepiece is a stylish addition to any collection and is perfect for everyday wear. Equally complimentary is the vintage stainless steel and black suede, period appropriate, expandable band in very nice condition which will easily accommodate a wrist of 7.5 inches. Please review all the pictures as they represent far more accurately the items condition than any verbal description that I can provide. In those situations where you are uncertain or unsure, ask questions, before bidding. Don’t assume. Asking questions will ensure that you receive what you expect. Most if not all of the horological items which I present for auction are from watchmakers’ estates which have been in storage for a number of years.
