eBay ANTIQUE 1901 HEISEY GLASS CLEAR WALDORF – ASTORIA PATTERN TOOTHPICK HOLDER EAPG A beautiful piece of early American made pattern glass in the form of a lovely little toothpick holder. It was made by the Heisey Glass Company formerly of Newark, Ohio and is part of their # 333 “Waldorf-Astoria” pattern line. It is a quality piece of undecorated pressed glass as you would expect from Heisey and has been factory ground & polished on the underside so it sits level. It is signed with the Heisey diamond H mark, which I tried unsuccessfully to photograph, as the mark is barely visible and very faint on this one. The toothpick holder in my photos is the actual one you will receive. Please be sure to read the “Age and Condition” paragraphs below. This piece was part of my Mother’s toothpick holder collection. According to her records she acquired this one in 1982. This same pattern is pictured on page 99 in the book Glass Toothpick Holders: Second Edition by Neila & Tom Bredehoft and Jo & Bob Sanford. If you are not familiar with the NTHCS (National Toothpick Holder Collectors’ Society) it is a great organization and you can learn more about them and collecting toothpick holders at their website. I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability. Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color. Age and Condition This piece dates to circa 1901. It is in excellent to near mint condition. Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item. There is a small flea bite to the top rim and also one small shallow flake to the edge of the foot. To me, this is all minor and exactly what I would expect to see on a glass toothpick holder of this age. Otherwise, there are no other chips, flea bites, cracks, hairlines or repairs to the glass. Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece. It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo. Approximate Dimensions About 2” (5.1 cm) across the top rim and sits about 2.25” (5.7 cm) off the table. Approximate Weight About 3.5 ounces (100 grams).
