Antique French Heliotype Prints, Salon du Mobilier in Paris, Furniture Fair, 1908 These three antique French plates printed by the “heliotypie”, or collotype, process are photographs of the stands in the “Salon du Mobilier de 1908”, (Furniture Fair of 1908), in Paris. The Salon du Mobilier, organized at the Grand Palais in Paris by the ”Chambres syndicales de l’ameublement, de la bijouterie-orfèvrerie, de la Céramique et de la Verrerie et des fabricants de bronze”, held its first salon in 1902. The 1908 salon was the third. These plates were realized by Ernest Louis Désiré le Deley (1859-1917) in Paris and published by Armand Guérinet, publisher active in Paris between the 1880’s to the 1920’s. The plates show signs of wear, folds and stains. Despite these signs of wear, these plates are a unique and valuable record of the extraordinary technique and creativity of French cabinet makers in Paris in the early 20th century.
