There is a distinct flavor that is a true delight imbued in the Epiphone line produced in Japan, and this interesting piece is far from the exception. This is a true player guitar, and she has signs of having been well favored and musically appreciated in her cosmetic appeal. There is a ding on the back of the neck, a handful of top-coat scratches, and minute dings scattered, but generally this is a sign that an instrument is instilled with deep vibe and funky mojo, and this one is indeed that. Perfectly weighted and well balanced are the first impressions, and when your hand reaches the fretboard the next impression is that this girl has got it. Unplugged she displays characteristic woody timbre and clean, resonant twang that transfers tremendously when she is plugged in. Hooked up to an amp this ebony queen truly comes to life and really packs the nuanced grind and authoritative tone that makes the Custom the quintessential electric guitar sound of our times. The guitar sets up to a tee with a straight and clean neck, and well functioning hardware. Playability is outta sight with crisp, buttery action and smooth, accurate feel making this little lady hard to put down. The guitar has a nice, tightly grained rosewood board, and clean frets, proper functioning machines that hold tune perfectly, and clean saddles that provide precise intonation.
