The best Super Strat you can find outside of Jackson USA’s Custom Shop! 🔥 1985 Gibson USA Custom Shop Q-30/300/3000 Electric Guitar in Army Green Finish! 🔥 If you searched for this guitar you already know what your looking at. If you've just come across the listing then you have found Gibson's most unique and, in my opinion, the greatest guitars Gibson ever produced. These guitars were Gibson's real try at their take on the Super Strat, and they hit it out of the park. These were built in very limited numbers out of the USA Custom Shop from 1985 until 1987, with the vast majority built in 1985. They were finished in three primary colors, Red, Black (have one listed separately) and Olympic White, but they also release small batches of many other custom colors such as Metallic Blue, Green, Yellow, etc. This guitar is finished in a metallic Army Green (and may very likely may be a unique custom order ). I have been lucky in finding many of these before they became very sought after, and so had managed to collect over a dozen unique colors and pick up varieties. Gibson built these guitars with real unique pick-up types, such as this guitar that sports 3 P-100 stacked humbuckers in single coil format. The P-100 is essentially a P-90 that adds a phantom coil below the active coil with the result is you get that classic P-90 sound with the hum cancellation of a humbucker. The unique feature continue with a Kayler Flyer Tremelo with fine tuners and Grover Tuning Machines which together result in deep resonance and unending sustain. A Gloss Black Finish gives this guitar a classic black and chrome look. She has been cleaned and polished as well as the fretboard has been oiled, air cleaned the electronics, and changed the strings to D'Addario XL110's, intonated on a strobe tuner and set the action as low as it can go. The end result is a very fast neck with low action and classic metal. Condition is a conservative 7.0 / 10.0 or Good Condition with honest play wear with many small scratches, marks and dings which are visible up close. Please look at pictures closely as they highlight any marks on the body. All Guitars and Basses will have a complete setup including a dead on strobe intonation and a fresh set of D'Addario XL110s (0.042-0.010), which gives it a deep rich tone and never ending sustain. Different gauge strings can be requested and will be utilized if possible. I have been a professional guitar player for my whole adult life and have more than 45 years of experience as a luthier of predominantly electric guitars, but I also have a great bit of acoustic repair and building experience. Over my 60 years, I've been a builder and guitar tech for several names I know you would know, and have worked under the pressure of time and never ending demands of descerning players night after night, as well as supporting innovators of 70's music through modern metal. I've been a collector since I started playing at 7 years old and have amassed a collection of many more than a thousand instruments and dozens of amps and speaker cabinets, both mobile and fixed, so I hope I can address anything you might ask, and if you are looking for something unusual there's a pretty good chance there may be one or more in my collection.
